OVERVIEW
Vecteng’s vision for building and operating infrastructure began with the development and financing of RustMo1 Solar Farm, a 7 MWp solar PV power plant. RustMo1 was the first project to reach Commercial Operations as part of RE-IPPPP BW1 .
The Vecteng team has over a decade of experience in Public-Private Partnerships (PPPs) and in managing Engineering, Procurement & Construction (EPC) and Operations & Maintenance (O&M) contracts. Over the years Vecteng has cultivated strategic partnerships with leading international and local partners with cumulative technical, operational and financial expertise. This collaborative approach enhances our ability to deliver projects across the energy, water and transport industries.
The overall condition rating of South Africa’s infrastructure is a D-rating, which entails a risk of failure, as per The South African Institution of Civil Engineering’s (SAICE) 2022 infrastructure report card. PPPs are the key to unlocking the massive infrastructure investment opportunities. Aligning itself to the United Nations SDG goals for clean water and sanitation (SDG 6) and affordable, clean energy (SDG 7), as well as the importance of supporting regional integration through strategic links between ports, terminals and production hubs, Vecteng’s focus is on providing clean energy, clean water and resilient transport infrastructure.
